A Boat to Take You There: Great slice of BC history and a moving memoir I'm a Canadian historian, and a fan of memoir, and this book did not disappoint. Gayle M. Goertzen weaves a story that is fascinating, funny, sad, eye-opening and at times raw. I mean...what a unique story; growing up on a floating logging camp in the middle of nowhere (but seemingly at the centre of it all).A great addition to BC history - especially rounding out mid-century coastal history - when gyppo loggers, indigenous peoples, fishermen, cannery workers, and trappers speckled the coast.I've read the Kindle version, but I'm looking forward to receiving my hard copy so that I can enjoy the pictures and maps more fully.
